East Sussex National Golf Resort & Spa looks out over the undulating greens of two championship golf courses and the beauty of the South Downs and is only 40 minutes from Gatwick airport. Set over three levels, you'll find the East Sussex National Hotel spacious but with a level of intimacy that will appeal to those who prefer the personal touch. There are 104 spacious bedrooms and suites with luxurious en-suite bathrooms with bath and large separate walk-in shower. All rooms have breathtaking views across the course and South Downs. Room facilities include: Air-conditioning in all rooms, wall-mounted flat screen LCD television, full Internet access, some rooms with their own balcony, hospitality tray, still and sparkling mineral water. If great food is your thing, you're well catered for. The open-plan restaurant is cool, stylish and welcoming. There is a variety of menus containing mouth-watering starters, mains and desserts and while you're enjoying your food, you can marvel at the magnificent views across the golf courses. If you want to sample some fine wines and spirits you're in the right place. The extensive wine list features carefully selected house and fine wines. All hotel guests can take advantage of Horsted Health Club situated on the ground floor, with its own coffee and juice bar. Technogym equipment, including a 50-station gymnasium, offers a range of cardio vascular and resistance equipment. The Health Club has a spectacular 20m pool complemented with a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. There are also full spa facilities.

East Sussex National West course is often regarded as the more scenic but is certainly tighter and more undulating. Again there are tees to suit varying standards of golfer. The West boasts four signature holes. The 12th is a par five with out of bounds either side of the drive, followed by a difficult second shot with water on the right and trees on the left, culminating in a plateau green guarded by a severe pot bunker and water around half the perimeter of the green. On the 16th tee the par three green, just 100 yards away, looks easy. Beware! The 17th is a long par five. The 18th needs an accurate to a tree lined fairway, followed by a shot into a heavily guarded green. (7154 yards, Par 73)

East Sussex National East Course was specifically designed with championship golf in mind and has staged the European Open and many high profile tournaments. Cleverly placed tee options permit the less competitive golfer to enjoy the character of the East course. The back nine has a challenging finish; the 15th is a long par four with a substantial carry from the tee, followed by the second shot into a plateau green. Then a deceptive par three over water with bunkers guarding the front and back of the green. The second shot the 17th is again over water but to a generous green. The 18th is a demanding uphill par 4. (7138 yards, Par 73)
