Burnham and Berrow is a memorable experience, the Championship course is a traditional seaside links, nine holes out and nine back. The first nine skirt the sand dunes and coastline northwards, turning inland and southwards and then following the coast road through Berrow, past the Church and back into Burnham. As with all links golf the challenging factor is the wind and its unpredictability, which means that the course can play differently almost every day. The greens true and quick and the course is guaranteed to be in good condition all year. (6793 yard, par 71)

Weston-super-Mare Golf Club is a links course with superb views across the Bristol Channel. In summer the greens are fast and true; the fairways tight and the rough punishing. In winter the course is rarely closed and is always played off real tees. The signature hole is the 15th - a 458-yard par 4 which is reputably modelled on the 17th at St Andrews Old Course, with a blind tee shot and out of bounds down the right, and the green set at an angle to the treacherous bunker at the front corner. The 15th is also the start of the tough finish; followed by the Par 3 16th into the prevailing wind; the dog leg Par 5 17th and the tricky par 4 18th with out of bounds on the right and back of the green and heavy bunkers to the left, meaning that you are often laying up short in two then hoping for a chip and a putt for your par. (6245 yards, Par 70).

The Channel Course at Burnham and Berrow is on the coastal (channel) side of the main links. Fred Hawtree was the designer and it was finished in 1977. The layout is excellent with several extremely good holes, which vie with some on the Championship Course. Members describe the Channel as the second best links golf course in Somerset. In 2006, nine new tees were added to make a nine hole, 18-tee course that is a real test of ability and a joy to play. It is approximately 3000 yards long and now has a redesigned 2nd hole and a new 8th hole (by Martin Hawtree). Whereas other coastal courses have lost land to the sea over time Burnham & Berrow has gained additional land. The first four holes of the Channel course follow the shoreline northwards alongside reed beds. With the reed bed hard on the left hand side and the wind veering from the north, this course becomes very tough with the third being a most challenging 195 yard Par 3.

Mendip Golf Club is on the North slope of the Mendip Hills, 15 miles south-west of Bath and 18 miles south of Bristol, the highest point on the course is almost 1000 feet above sea level on the 3rd fairway.  Looking around on a fine day, visitors can enjoy unparalleled views over seven counties, including the Welsh mountains, spectacular King Arthur's Vale of Avalon, mysterious Glastonbury Tor, and across to Bridgwater Bay and Exmoor. It is an undulating downland course with excellent drainage and fairways of springy downland turf, it claims to have lies that some golfers can only dream about. The excellent greens are maintained to a very high standard, many having pronounced borrows which need careful reading. The undulating Mendip terrain comes into play on many holes and makes the placement of tee shots very important and stiff winds often test your golf. (6383 yards, par 71).
